In this blog I want to give you some advice so that you not only apply holistic design in your spaces, but also in your life. This will help you feel better, make better decisions, and attract a balanced environment.
Over time, I have implemented certain habits in my life that have changed my days in a very positive way. I am going to share some that you can incorporate into your daily routine:
1. Meditation or mindfulness practice: Take a few minutes each day to practice meditation or mindfulness. This will help you calm your mind, increase awareness, and connect with yourself. I use 5 minute guided meditations or I meditate without a guide. I do this very early in the morning because I like to go out and there is no one who can interrupt my practice.
2. Regular physical activity: Perform the sports that you like the most in a constant and disciplined manner. It can be walking, running, practicing yoga or any activity you like. Exercise not only benefits your physical health, but also contributes to your emotional and mental well-being. In my case, I practice crossfit, yoga and do mobility exercises every day.
3. Conscious eating: Pay attention to what you eat and how you do it. The ideal is always to choose nutritious and healthy foods, avoiding processed foods as much as possible. Eat slowly and pay attention to your body's satiety signals. In my case, it helps me a lot to have an eating plan personalized to my lifestyle with a nutrition professional.
4. Digital disconnection time: Establish daily times to disconnect from electronic devices. Turn off your phone or set periods of time without social media. Use that time for activities that nourish you, such as reading, enjoying nature, or spending quality time with your loved ones. Those disconnection times are gold.
5. Gratitude practice: Take a few minutes each day to reflect on the things you feel grateful for. You can write in a gratitude journal or just make a mental list. This will help you cultivate an attitude of appreciation and contentment.
6. Moments of stillness and self-care: Reserve time for yourself, where you can rest, relax and do activities that you like. It can be taking a relaxing bath, reading a book, listening to calming music, or any activity that provides calm and well-being.
7. Connection with nature: Spend time outdoors and connect with nature. Go for walks, go hiking, or just sit in a park. I love going for a walk or doing yoga outdoors.
8. Self-exploration and personal development: Take time to get to know yourself. You can read personal development books, attend workshops or courses that interest you, or even seek the help of a coach or therapist to work on specific aspects of your life. I love learning new things about design, business, yoga or mobility. So I propose to take courses, read books or listen to podcasts that cultivate me on those topics.
9. Cultivate meaningful relationships: Establish authentic connections with others. Spend quality time with your loved ones, listen actively and show compassion and empathy towards them.
Remember that the implementation of these habits will require perseverance and commitment. Start small and gradually integrate them into your daily life. Over time, you will notice how you move closer to a more holistic and balanced approach to your life.
A hug,
Nela.
